The Department of Home Affairs will be hosting a community outreach programme to assist residents from the Overstrand with the registration of births and applying and collecting of ID documents.
Home Affairs and other government related services will be available from 10:00 – 18:00, at the following venues:
• 21, 22 and 23 February: Gansbaai Spaces for Sport
• 24 and 25 February: Kleinmond Town Hall
• 21 and 22 February: Moffat Hall, Mount Pleasant
• 23, 24 and 25 February: Stanford Community Hall
• 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 February: Qhayiya Secondary School, Zwelihle
REQUIREMENTS WHEN APPLYING FOR SMART ID CARDS:
You will only need two ID photos when applying for a temporary ID Certificate;
there will be no need for applicants to bring (or pay for) ID photos when they are first time applicants or when they are pensioners or for re-issuing of a lost ID card.
FIRST TIME IDS: (From 16 years and older and never had an ID before)
Bring along:
1. Original Birth Certificate (can be printed on the Mobile Unit at a fee of R20 for an abridged certificate or R75 for an unabridged birth certificate)
2. One the parents (preferably the mother) with ID document to accompany 1st time applicant
3. Certified copy of fathers ID document
4. Free of charge
PENSIONERS: (60 years & older if it is your first ID Smart Card)
Bring along:
1. Your ID number and old ID book
2. If green ID book was lost/stolen bring along an affidavit from SAPS
